For server owners

Some plugins on your server use PluginAnalytics so their developers can improve them. One file controls it for all of them.

plugins/PluginAnalytics/config.yml

The first plugin that uses PluginAnalytics creates this file. Every plugin that uses it reads the same file when it starts, so a change applies to all of them after a restart.

# PluginAnalytics collects anonymous usage statistics for the developers of your plugins:
# server software and versions, player counts and how plugin features are used.
# Players are anonymous hashes; no names, IPs, chat or world data is ever sent.
# Set enabled to false to turn it off for every plugin. Learn more: https://pluginanalytics.dev/privacy

KeyDefaultWhat it does
enabledtrueSet to false to turn PluginAnalytics off for every plugin on this server. Nothing is collected or sent.
server-idrandomA random id created on your server, the only way reports from it are told apart. It must stay a UUID. Delete the line to get a new one (your server then counts as a new install).
saltrandomA secret that never leaves your server. Players are sent only as a hash of their UUID with this salt, so the same player has a different hash on every server. Changing it makes every player look new.
log-sent-datafalseSet to true to print every report in the console, exactly as it's sent, plus any sending errors.
notify-adminstrueSet to false to hide every update notice and feedback prompt, in the console and in chat.

Turn it off

enabled: false

Save and restart the server. Your plugins keep working exactly the same. A plugin's own feedback command, if it has one, tells players that feedback is turned off on this server.

Notices in chat

Plugins can show their developer's update notices and a feedback question to operators and to players with the plugin's <plugin>.notify permission, once per server start. To hide them for one plugin, deny that permission to your admins; to hide them for all plugins, set notify-admins: false.

Network

Each plugin sends one HTTPS request an hour to pluginanalytics.dev, from a low-priority background thread. If you block that address, nothing breaks: the data just isn't sent.

What is sent

Server software and versions, player counts, how plugin features are used, configuration choices, errors and log lines with names, IPs and UUIDs removed, and performance timings. Never player names, UUIDs, IP addresses, chat, inventories, world data or your server's address. The full list is on the privacy page.
